This gorgeous antique navette ring features an oval dark-blue sapphire that is approximately 0.18 carats. It is accented above and below by 10 rose-cut diamonds, totaling approximately 0.17 carats. The setting tests as 10K gold and has the rosy tinge that older yellow gold tends to have. Navette rings were most popular in the 18th century (Georgian era) and rose-cut diamonds were often used then, but could also have been created in the Victorian or Edwardian eras. This piece is known very good condition for its age, with the main wear showing on the prongs. I do believe it has had some work done on it previously in a more modern era, as it appears that some of the prongs have been re-tipped and with the lack of wear on the band. It is currently a size 6.75, but could be resized by a jeweler. The ellipse measures just under 0.75 in. long and about 3/16 in. wide. Great piece to add to your collection!
